The Rambling Pig

Flavoursome Filipino fusion food, right here in Ewell Village.

Don’t be fooled by the quiet character and charm of the Grade II listed building that’s home to The Rambling Pig, Ewell Village. Buckle up for big flavours – Filipino style! Oysters to start are the perfect way to get those taste buds ready for action. Served with fresh ginger, radish, red onion, jalapeño salsa and kalamansi – a citrus fruit native to the Philippines – enjoy them alongside a glass of Kalamansi lemonade dressed with fresh mint.

Crumbled halloumi fingers are served with a sprinkling of paprika, beautifully warmed and with a generous helping of banana ‘ketchup’ – the perfect balance of sweet, savoury and spice. Traditionally, many dishes are meant to be eaten with your hands like San Choy Bau, a mix of minced pork, beef and lamb cooked with chilli, peanuts and basil. Spoon onto crispy gem lettuce leaves with atchara – a papaya pickle – for a light, fresh dish that won’t weigh you down.

For vegan and gluten-free menu choices, the roasted cauliflower salad is made with coconut yoghurt, capers, mustard and coconut flakes. A delicious side plate to share along with the  Longanisa fried rice, made with spicy sausage and served with a fried egg. Classic Filipino dishes are not to be missed; the Chicken Adobo is a secret family recipe from sous chef Adam; his soy and garlic-based dish comes with a jalepeno, mango and cucumber salsa while the Slow Roasted Lechon – crispy, tender free-range pork belly pieces – is served with atchara and a dipping sauce. Seriously. Salivating. Stuff! Room for dessert? We recommend the Kalamansi panna cotta with passion fruit to perfectly round off your taste of the tropics.
