You should know by now that we’re all about supporting local businesses, so when we heard that The Duke’s Head in Tadworth were launching their very own bespoke gin, we had to find out more. The things we do for our community…
In the midst of our country’s ginaissance, The Duke’s Head are getting a slice of the action by collaborating with nearby The Gin Kitchen to distil their swanky new premium gin, The Tipsy Toad.
This botanical blend of juniper berries, liquorice root, nectarine, ginger, orange peel, lemon thyme and Tonka bean is the sensory epitome of British Summertime. Now we just need the heatwave to return so we can sit and sip away! Luckily the sun was out to celebrate its launch a couple of weeks ago, in which the garden was transformed into a charmingly chic paradise – think cherry blossom trees and wisteria galore. Not only was the booze flowing, but Head Chef, Miz, concocted canapés to accompany the floral flavours and British singer, Vern Ward, serenaded the locals too.
The Tipsy Toad delivers both inside and out, with a unique bottle design that aptly features a drunken toad in traditional Duke’s headwear, created by artist Robyn Heath. Good news is that it will shortly be accompanied by a pink variety that blends blackberries into the mix too. The pink gin is yet to be named, so if you’ve got something special up your sleeve, let us know!
If you fancy sampling The Tipsy Toad for yourself, pop along to The Duke’s Head for a G&T or two. We’ll see you there. Cheers!
