DRUM
A story of home and identity

Set in 1960s London, DRUM is a vibrant and moving new play following two rising Ghanaian creatives brought together by chance, but driven by purpose. Inspired by true events, DRUM blends music, dance and archive to explore identity, belonging and the meaning of home.
“Music and dance act like a third character,” says writer Jacob Roberts-Mensah. “They bring unity, even in disagreement.” At its core, DRUM is about how people define ‘home’ once they’ve left it behind, and how legacy, joy and pride shape our journey.
“I want people to walk away feeling joyful – and reflective,” says Roberts-Mensah. “There’s so much
more that unites us than divides us.”
