Knead to Know
Meet Charlotte Crockford, a local baker sharing the joy of making real bread from her cosy kitchen.

Tucked away in a leafy corner of Epsom, Charlotte Crockford runs her own micro bakery Bake 88, where she also teaches hands-on breadmaking workshops. With the scent of freshly baked bread in the air and a kettle always on, her relaxed kitchen is the perfect place to learn a new skill this autumn.
“For me, it’s all about sharing what I love,” says Charlotte. “Breadmaking is such a rewarding skill – something you can keep doing, share with your family and feel proud of.”
Charlotte’s seasonal classes run monthly, with everything from beginner loaves and sourdough bread and bagels to festive favourites like pretzels and stollen. Groups are kept small, questions are encouraged and everything is made from simple, honest ingredients. “You’ll leave feeling inspired to give it a go – and confident enough to keep going. It’s such a great activity for a team or a unique present for yourself
or a loved one.”
